Set up account

  • Communicate with account executive to set up an account and obtain login information
  • Set up memorandum of understanding that includes a confidentiality statement to protect student data
  • Review the articles in this knowledge base


Login

  • Go to CogRead login page, www.cogread.com/access
  • Select the icon based upon the purpose of your current login:
    • Administrative System
    • Student testing
    • Training, the PASS Program


Administrative System

  • Review demo account to see data and group structure (login will be provided by your account executive)
  • Explore and familiarize yourself with the administrative system
    • Login and click on all the tabs and links
    • Click on the green question mark in the upper right corner to access the knowledge base
  • Create a sample student account
  • Understand the group tree structure
  • Understand the main window structure
    • Click on the group in the tree structure where you want the chosen action to happen
    • Three categories
      • Group mode—When you click on a group in the tree, you are initially in the group mode. If you add an admin, add a student or add a group, that action will affect the group chosen in the tree.
      • Student mode—When you select a group, the main window displays the student tab. Select the user ID of the desired student.
      • Administrator mode—If you wish to see the list of administrator who have access to this group directly, click on the admin tab.
  • Create administrative login for subgroups
    • Click the desired group
    • Click to add admin, which will access the selected group and any subgroups indented under that group
  • Understand how to provide student access to products
  • Edit group, student and admin records
  • Review test results
  • Review exercise results
  • Adjust exercise program
  • Search for a student, group or administrator
  • Review and understand reports


Testing

  • Review appropriate articles in the knowledge base at www.cogread.com/kb
  • To login for taking the Gibson Test, go to www.cogread.com/access, select the testing icon
  • Review Gibson Test
    • Either take the test(s) yourself or watch a student take the tests so you are familiar with the process
    • Review Gibson Test Instructions
    • Review Gibson Test results
  • Review PASS Check
  • Review Letter Sound Evaluation

Training

  • Review appropriate articles in the knowledge base at www.cogread.com/kb
  • Go to www.cogread.com/access, select the training icon
  • Login using your admin login or student login
    • Administrative login—If an admin uses their administrative login, they will have more flexible access to the exercises. Any exercise can be selected at any level or speed. This allows an administrator or mentor to experience the full range of complexity and jump to where a student is to explore student questions.
    • Student—Student training is more structured. Students will have access only to the training products that have been assigned to their account.
