The proper training process is critical for students to succeed. We prefer one adult coach per five students in the computer lab during training to ensure students receive the proper supervision, coaching, mentoring, and encouragement.

If a school has adequate personnel to provide this level of support it can be handled internally. However, if they do not, it is important to supplement school personnel with outside help. In some cases, depending upon budget and need, the school can contract with professionals to provide this support. However, if budget is an issue, it is possible to recruit volunteers from parents and the community to help. In some cases, schools already have a contract with a professional group or are working with a local nonprofit organization. Otherwise, schools usually have parent volunteers already in place. The lead person at the school would just need to identify enough parents who can consistently be available to participate.

Volunteers would read the same tutorials as the lead school person. They would also do enough of the training themselves to gain a full understanding of the process. This would require a minimum of two hours up to five hours. Volunteers can train enough to get started and can continue their training as needed.
